Golden Donkeys Farm
The “Golden Donkeys Farm”, is an integrated agro-farming and agro-touristic enterprise, operated by the Pieris family since 2000. It is a new generation artisan firm, which is based on an innovation business model that embraces ‘going back to our roots’ paradigm. The multi venture focuses on the breeding of donkeys, collecting valuable milk for the production of a range of super products that include chocolates and hygiene ointments. The family developed into experiential tourism by transforming Golden Donkeys as a thematic park, which is proving very popular with schools, local and foreign tourists. The main challenges facing the partnership of founders and next generation, is the completion of succession, and of course, how to engineer an export based growth strategy.
