Oleastro – Olive Park

“OLEASTRO Olive Park”, is a thematic park projecting the Cypriot tradition associated with ‘olive tree’ and ‘olive oil’ . The venture was established in 2003 in the village of Anogyra in Limassol, by copreneurs Lina and Andreas Ellina and they have pioneered with the production of super high quality organic virgin oil. The “Oleastro Olive Park” with its venture units was developed to support the growth of the core business by drawing funds, under the female entrepreneurship grant scheme . Today four members of the family (the father, the mother and their two daughters) are running the firm which is based on an integrated agro-farming and agro-touristic model. Oleastro offers to schools, families and tourists experiential agro-tourism by featuring aspects of the 6,000 years of olive civilization. The main challenges that the family firm faces relates to dis- economies of its niche business model, seasonality and of course inter-generational succession.
