UCLan Cyprus and GrantXpert Consulting in collaboration with Artisan Consortium of partners would like to invite you to the European Conference on Heritage Entrepreneurship: The Development of Artisan Family Firms across Generations, which will take place on the 12th of June 2018 at UCLan Cyprus, Larnaka – Cyprus.
The conference is part of the Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership project for Adult Education entitled “ARTISAN”: Aspiring entrepreneurial families to perpetuate cultural business across generations that has investigated the internal and external factors shaping the development of artisan family firms across generations.
The forum will involve founding owner-managers entrepreneurs, next generation heirs, business advisors, practitioners, policy makers and academics that can offer practical insight into the hidden minefield that could jeopardise the survival and growth of smaller family run agro-farming and agro-touristic and other heritage artisan firms, with dreadful impact on family relations and cultural paradigm and development of the community. Family business entrepreneurs will share their experience with transitions across generations expounding what to watch out from the socio-emotional-family, ownership and business management perspective.
Academic practitioners from Spain, Italy, France, Portugal and Cyprus will offer practical training workshops supported by live testimonials and video cases that can enrich the Toolkit for the Development of Family Business Continuity Plan. Following the morning workshops the conference will conclude with an open and panel policy forum, which will involve all the protagonists and unveil the roadmap for sustainable development of artisan ventures in order to inform policy debate, at all levels.
